What we are aiming for

We want this store to be usable by everyone, including people using a screen reader, a keyboard without a mouse, voice control, or a browser zoomed well past 100%. We are working towards the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA.

What we have actually done

  • Colour contrast. Every text-and-background pairing in our palette has been checked against the WCAG AA contrast thresholds and passes.
  • Keyboard use. Navigation, product options, cart and checkout are reachable and operable with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus outline.
  • Images. Product and content images carry descriptive alternative text.
  • Structure. Pages use real headings, lists and form labels rather than styled text, so a screen reader can navigate them.
  • Text size. Body text can be enlarged without the layout breaking or content disappearing.
  • Motion. We do not use auto-playing video with sound, flashing content, or animation that cannot be stopped.

What we know is not perfect

An honest list is more useful than a badge.

  • We have not commissioned a formal third-party audit. Our testing is our own.
  • Parts of the checkout are provided by Shopify and are outside our direct control, though Shopify publishes its own accessibility work.
  • Some third-party embeds — payment, reviews, analytics — may not meet the same standard as the pages we build.

If something blocks you

Email hello@softseason.store and tell us what happened, what you were using, and what you were trying to do. We reply within 1–2 business days, Monday to Friday, we will fix what we can, and we will tell you plainly if something is going to take a while or is outside our control.

If you cannot use the site to order, email us and we will take the order by email instead. That offer is real and it has no conditions attached.
