FAQ

Making and delivery

How long will it take?

Making takes about 2–3 weeks, depending on the queue. After that, delivery is 2–5 business days after dispatch within India and 7–21 business days after dispatch internationally. We email you when yours is begun, send you a photograph of it finished, and email you again the moment it ships.

Why is there no delivery date at checkout?

Because we would have to make it up. Your wrap is crocheted by hand after you order, and the queue moves. We would rather tell you the truth about a range and then keep you updated than print a confident date we might miss.

Can I get it faster?

Sometimes. Email hello@softseason.store with the date you need it by, before you order, and we will tell you honestly whether we can hit it. If we cannot, we will say so rather than take the order and hope.

How much is shipping?

Nothing. It is included in the price, everywhere we ship. Import duty and local tax on international orders are set by your own country and are payable by you — see the Shipping Policy.

Do you ship to my country?

We ship within India and internationally. The countries we can reach are the ones offered at checkout. If your country is not at checkout, email us and we will tell you whether we can get a parcel to you.

The product

What size is it, and what age does it fit?

Measurements are on the product page. If you are between sizes or buying for a baby who has not arrived yet, email us the due date and we will tell you which to choose. We would rather answer a question than process a return.

Will the colour look exactly like the photograph?

Close, but not identical. Yarn comes in dye lots and screens are not calibrated. Every photograph on this site is of a real piece under honest light — but before we ship, we send you a photograph of your piece, and if the colour is not what you hoped for, we remake it free.

Is every one the same?

No, and this is worth knowing before you buy. Each piece is crocheted by a person, so tension, dimensions and shade vary slightly. That variation is the product. If you want two identical items, a machine-made wrap is the honest recommendation.

What is it made of?

Soft cotton yarn and two wooden buttons, crocheted by hand in Narsapur, Andhra Pradesh, India. Nothing glued, nothing coated.

How do I wash it?

Hand wash cool, lay flat to dry. Do not machine wash and do not tumble dry — both will felt the stitch permanently, and that is not covered by our promises. Full instructions on the Safety & Care page.

Safety

Is it safe for a newborn?

It is safe for its intended use: cuddles, prams and photographs, while your baby is awake and with you. It is not a sleep product, it must never be used for sleep, and it must never be used unsupervised. Always remove a loose wrap before putting your baby down unattended. Please read the Safety & Care page in full — it is short, and it is the most important page here.

What about the buttons?

Two wooden buttons, stitched through rather than glued. Check them before every use. If one ever loosens, stop using the piece and email us — we will repair or replace it.

Ordering, changing and returning

Can I cancel?

Within 24 hours of ordering, if work has not started, yes — full refund. After that, no, because your piece is already being made specifically for you. If you are buying from the UK or the EU, your statutory 14-day right to cancel applies in full; the terms are on the Refund Policy page.

What if it arrives damaged or wrong?

Email a photograph within 30 days. We remake and reship free, or refund you in full — your choice. You do not post anything back.

Can I change the delivery address?

Before dispatch, yes. Email us. After dispatch, no — the courier will not redirect it for us.

Gifts

Can you send it as a gift?

Yes. Add the gift box at checkout and leave your message in the cart note. It arrives in a kraft box with a handwritten card and no prices anywhere on the parcel.

Can you ship it straight to the recipient?

Yes — enter their address as the delivery address and yours as billing. Tracking updates go to you, not to them.

About us

Why don't you have any reviews?

Because we have not had enough customers yet, and we are not going to invent any. Every review you eventually see here will be from a person who actually bought something, collected through Judge.me so we cannot quietly edit them. Several stores selling this same product display review counts in the thousands with nothing behind them. We would rather show you zero.

Why does it cost what it costs?

Because a person crochets it by hand, one at a time, and is paid properly for it. There is no factory, no batch and no shelf. If you want the machine-made version, it exists and it is cheaper — it is just not the same object.

Who makes them?

Artisans in Narsapur, Andhra Pradesh, India, a crochet cluster with a long working tradition. More on the About page.

How do I reach a person?

Email hello@softseason.store. We reply within 1–2 business days, Monday to Friday. There is no chatbot and no phone queue.
