Why this store exists
Soft Season started with a search that went badly. Every store selling a hand-crocheted star wrap had the same photographs, the same invented review counts, and no way to reach a person. Some had no returns policy at all. It is a product bought for a newborn, usually as a gift, usually by someone who has never bought one before — and the whole category was built to be difficult to check. So this store is built the other way round. The pattern is licensed and the designer is paid. The wraps are crocheted by hand, one at a time, by artisans in Narsapur. Before your piece ships we photograph the actual object and send it to you, and if it is not what you hoped for we make it again. There are no reviews here yet because there have not been enough customers yet, and we are not going to invent any. None of that is clever. It is just the ordinary way to sell something, which turns out to be unusual in this corner of the internet.
Who makes them
Every wrap is crocheted by hand in Narsapur, Andhra Pradesh, India, a town with a long and genuine crochet tradition. One person makes one piece. There is no factory, no production line and no batch waiting in a warehouse — your wrap does not exist until you order it, and then somebody starts it.
That is why it takes 2–3 weeks, and why we will not print a delivery date we cannot stand behind.
The design
Our star wrap is made under a paid commercial licence from the independent designer of the pattern, which explicitly permits the sale of finished pieces. We mention this because it is not the norm in this category, and because a pattern designer being paid is part of the same idea as an artisan being paid.
What we will not do
This is the shortest way to explain what we are.
- No invented reviews or customer counts. We started at zero and we are showing you zero until real people have written real ones.
- No countdown timers and no "only 3 left". Nothing is in stock. There is nothing to run out of.
- No crossed-out prices. We have never charged more than we charge now.
- No AI-generated product photographs. Every photograph is of a piece that exists — and before your order ships, we send you a photograph of yours.
- No under-declared customs values. People ask. The answer is no.
None of that is difficult. It is just uncommon, and after a while an absence starts to look like a promise.
Safety comes before selling
Our wraps are for cuddles, prams and photographs while your baby is awake and with you. They are not a sleep product and must never be used unsupervised.
